David began his experience in the Consumer Event business 24 years ago by working part time for his mother who as Show Manager of several Home Shows in the US market was an employee of Southem Corporation which owned many consumer and trade shows both in Canada and the United States.
He began by performing the ordinary office administrative details such as addressing mailouts, answering phone calls, and assisting in all functions necessary to help run an efficient office. As he matured David began to help with renewal sales and exhibitor floor placement and most significantly the value of “correct” exhibitor floor placement. David learned early that a satisfied exhibitor would become a loyal exhibitor.
In January, 2004 David joined dmg world media as a sales representative. dmg world media, now Marketplace Events, produces homes shows in Canada and the US. David worked on the Southern California Home Show in Anaheim, three home shows in Arizona, and one in San Diego.
When dmg decided to close its local office in Anaheim, CA he took his home show and consumer event experience and joined Advanstar Communications as an account manager for the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows presented by Toyota Trucks. After two tours on the IMS circuit, David joined his mother to form D & D Expositions and took on the role as Show Manager for the Philadelphia Motorcycle Show.
